CASINGS are  a trim moulding profile which frames (or trims) a door or window. Casing is functional as well as decorative. The main purpose of casing is to surround all doors and windows, covering any space or gap left between the drywall and frame. 

 In architecture, a BASEBOARDS (also called skirting board, skirting, wainscoting, mopboard, trim, floor molding, or base molding) covering the lowest part of an interior wall. Its purpose is to cover the joint between the wall surface and the floor. 

A PLINTH BLOCK (also known as a skirting block) which is slightly thicker and wider than your skirting board and architrave. It sits at the bottom of the architrave and either the right or left of the skirting board depending on the position of the door frame. 

CROWN MOULDING is a form of cornice created out of decorative moulding installed atop an interior wall. It is also used atop doors, windows, pilasters and cabinets. 

BACK BANDS provides additional detail to door and window casings. Back band is a more functional element that provides thickness at the edge of a casing when a thick baseboard, chair rail, or wall panel detail is to be used. 

CHAIR RAILS are a trim mouldings made from wood and horizontally attached to a wall, wrapping around the entire perimeter of a room.

PANELING is a millwork wall covering constructed from rigid or semi-rigid components. These are traditionally interlocking wood.

 SHOE MOULDING, also known as “base shoe,” is a thin strip of moulding that runs along the bottom of baseboards. It is used both as a decorative element and to hide any unevenness or gaps in between the baseboard and floor. 

 The WINDOW STOOL is the part of the window commonly called the window sill. The stool is the visible piece of wood attached to the window sill that you might sit your plants on. 

PANEL MOULDS are trim mouldings with a linear profile that can be mitered and made into a frame to create the impression of panelled walls. Alternatively, they can give a more decorative look to furniture, shelving, doors etc as either a panel or a decorative feature.
